My current work is painting, performance, installation and photography.  I paint directly on the skin of live models to integrate and question notions of embodiment, connections between an individual’s body, personal identity, imposed identity and social acceptability.  The bodies are exposed and made vulnerable by personal, natural and socio-political constructs.  Models become ambiguously hidden in the background paintings.  Through my imposition of layerings, viewers are pushed to distinguish between the human body, the individual and the ambiguity of place and time.  My  art exploration is inspired by questions of border politics, forced assimilation, language acquisition and identity politics.
